Day 14 - Qing Dynasty Summer Palace

It is hard to believe we are now counting down our time in China in hours instead of days.  Today was our last full day in Beijing.  Although our time here has been short we are ready to continue the journey.

Today we took the subway to the Summer Palace for the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).  Unlike most of the temples and palaces in Beijing, this palace is fairly new; it was build in the mid 1860's (the civil war in the US was about to begin, but new for china).

Throughout the day we were highly amused by the poses people were making when having their pictures taken.  We decided to act out a few of the poses ourselves; we were highly entertained (some of our best poses are posted below).

Tomorrow we fly to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for the week.  We are anxious to see the contrast in the Asian culture after spending the week in China.  The internet connection in Cambodia may be limited, but we will try to at least post a message everyday, even if we are not able to post pictures.
